Does your dress code match your profession?

Working in corporate is very high pressure, high performance and demanding. As an IT professional I am sometimes expected to look or not look a certain way, I often get people tell me “oh but you don’t look like you work in IT” so tell me, how does a person in IT look?

 

I work in a corporate organisation where we are client facing, therefore what you do is important but how you show up is just as important, whether I decide to suit up, wear a figure forming dress, jeans & blazer or a jumpsuit I dress how I feel and wear what makes me feel comfortable and presentable.

 

Needless to say I don’t spend hours planning my wardrobe in fact I’m one who never knows what to wear and turns the house upside down before I find what I like and trust me by the time I hit the door you too would swear I work in a different profession.

 

So what is your take on this, How do you dress up for work and does your dress code match your profession?
