A Taste Of Mauritius
This post like many others, is way overdue!! Last year at the end of October I had the opportunity to travel to Mauritius as part of our team’s incentive at work. This was a true blessing indeed! We departed in the morning at around 9am and this was a 3-hour flight, before we knew it we had landed in the beautiful island of Mauritius. After clearing immigration, we headed out of the airport where the buses and tour guides awaited us. Our drive to the hotel in Port Louis was about an hour long during which I learned from the tour guide that the island of Mauritius was only 65km long and 45km wide!!! This caught my attention because the island is so small you could possibly drive from one end to the other! It’s crazy! We had the pleasure of staying at the Intercontinental Resort Balaclava Fort which was a dream! Our rooms were beach facing and you could literally wake up and walk to the beach!
Our wonderful team that coordinated the trip had a planned schedule for us, but what I love most about our team’s trips is that you are free to spend the day at your leisure, lounging at the pool or at the beach or heading to the markets for some shopping and on the evening of day 2 we had our all white party, which was nothing short of splendour.
On day 3 we went on a trip where we boarded catamarans and cruised the Indian ocean to the small islands around Mauritius for snorkelling and then to one of the beaches for a relaxing day in the sun with lunch and drinks on the boat.
I had forgotten my Canon Cam, however that did not stop me from taking beautiful pictures with my S8. I Hope you enjoy the pics, some of which I posted on Instagram. It was truly a memorable experience, my first time in Mauritius but definitely not my last! I plan to make a return trip soon 😊 with my heart’s keeper ofcourse!
